Hohnen Ford

Born and raised in North London, Hohnen Ford grew up immersed in London’s vibrant Jazz scene, becoming fixated on instrumental jazz music of the 20th Century and later studying Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music.

During her time at the Royal Academy, Ella wrote and performed extensively in various ensembles around the UK, whilst privately developing her own sound, inspired by the songwriting of Joni Mitchell, Bjork, David Longstreth, Stevie Wonder, Big Thief, Gillian Welch, and the composers of the Great American Songbook. The undeniable charm of Hohnen Ford’s live-streamed home performances allowed her to cultivate a devoted online following during the writing and recording of her debut release which she has since built upon.
